My Profile

I am a Driving Standards Agency (DSA) Approved Driving Instructor (ADI). I am also a member of the Driving Instructors Association (DIA) and Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM). I cover Whitchurch, Andover, Winchester and the Basingstoke areas.

The DSA says that on average pupils take 45 hours of professional training combined with 22 hours of private practice. Statistics show that 1 in 5 newly qualified drivers will be involved in an accident during their first year of driving. I believe that experience is the key to reducing this alarming statistic as the more driving experience a novice can gain, the more adept they will be at dealing with high risk situations. As a result I encourage my pupils, where possible, to combine their lessons with a significant amount of private practice.

I am fully aware of the financial implications but it is possible that pupils who do not take private practice will require more lessons in order to be thoroughly prepared for their test. However, everyone learns at a different pace so with this in mind your tuition will be tailored to your individual abilities.

Before entering a pupil for the practical test, my main priority is to ensure that they are not only capable of passing but are also experienced enough not to endanger their own life or the lives of other road users.

If you are a beginner, nervous or have had a bad experience you will receive 1-1 tuition with a calm instructor so please call to discuss your requirements.
